Xiaomi is out to make smartphone enthusiasts’ jaws drop to the floor with its new Mi Max Alpha, the concept phone it revealed at an event in China today. The handset has a wraparound screen that practically covers the front and back, save for a strip that houses a 108-megapixel camera. As of today, the UK is criminalising actions such as cyberflashing and — in a world fist — epilepsy-trolling, with offenders potentially facing prison time. The new offences will come into play as part of the Online Safety Act, a recently introduced bill designed to protect people from illegal or “harmful” online content.
